From June 28 to July 3, 2026, the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC 2026) was held in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China. More than 700 scientists, conservation practitioners, and young scholars from over 60 countries and regions gathered to discuss pathways for tropical biodiversity conservation and the sustainable development of ecosystems.

Founded in 1963, ATBC is the largest and oldest academic organization in global tropical ecology. Its annual meeting, hosted in a different country each year, is one of the most influential academic conferences in the international tropical ecology field. Organized by the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the conference was themed "Achieving a Shared Ecological Civilization for Long-Term Resilience" and featured approximately 560 specialized presentations.

As a technical service provider in the ecological and environmental monitoring sector, LICA showcased its independently developed core equipment at Booth 5, including the Airborne Hyperspectral LiDAR Measurement System, the Chlorophyll Fluorescence and Hyperspectral Vegetation Index Monitoring System, and the Soil Greenhouse Gas Flux Measurement System. These exhibits presented LICA's advanced solutions in ecological monitoring to global researchers.

Among them, the PS-9600 Portable Soil CO₂/CH₄ Flux System attracted numerous domestic and international researchers with its portability, stability, and high-precision data output. The technical team not only explained the core technical parameters and field deployment plans of the instruments but also shared LICA's successful practical cases in tropical vegetation monitoring both domestically and abroad, specifically addressing pain points such as the difficulties of long-term unattended monitoring in tropical field environments. These solutions received high praise from experts of various countries.

The convening of this conference further consolidated the consensus of the global tropical biology and conservation science community, promoting the establishment of more open data-sharing mechanisms and deeper transnational cooperation networks. Through this international tropical ecology event, LICA has gained a more scientific understanding of tropical ecosystems, tropical forest ecology, and carbon sinks.
