LICA Shines at the 12th National Symposium on Stable Isotope Ecology

Stable isotopes are isotopes that do not undergo radioactive decay in nature, and their states of existence remain unchanged during geochemical processes. Consequently, isotope technology is widely applied across various research fields, including ecology, environmental science, and hydrology. From August 10 to 13, 2026, the 12th National Symposium on Stable Isotope Ecology and the 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the Stable Isotope Ecology Professional Committee of the Ecological Society of China were grandly held in Guiyang. Over 500 experts, scholars, and graduate students from more than 300 universities and research institutions nationwide gathered in the city.

Since its inception, the National Symposium on Stable Isotope Ecology has been held continuously for over a decade, establishing itself as a highly influential annual academic exchange platform in China's stable isotope research field. Co-hosted by the Stable Isotope Ecology Professional Committee of the Ecological Society of China, Guizhou University, the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Guizhou Environmental Science Society, the conference featured various forms of exchange, including specialized presentations, group discussions, and poster exhibitions.

The conference scheduled 15 plenary keynote reports, inviting numerous renowned experts and scholars to share their research achievements in their respective fields. In addition to the main venue, 15 specialized sub-forums were held concurrently, covering research on various stable isotopes and ecology, including carbon, nitrogen, water, and metals, with a total of 197 specialized reports included.

As a technical service provider in the ecological and environmental sector, LICA met with attendees at Booth 10 on the 1st Floor and Booth 5 on the 3rd Floor. The company brought its ID Micro EA (C, N, S, O) Stable Isotope Analyzer, capable of conducting stable isotope analysis in continuous flow mode, as well as a high-precision C-14 Isotope Analyzer for the high-precision measurement of ¹⁴C in gaseous CO. LICA's stable isotope and greenhouse gas analysis solutions have achieved excellent practical results in ecological environments, soil science, climate research, and carbon neutrality monitoring, attracting numerous experts and scholars for in-depth communication.

The successful convening of this conference provided a professional exchange platform for scholars from diverse research backgrounds, promoting both fundamental theoretical research and practical application exchanges of stable isotopes across various fields. Through this event, LICA gained a deeper understanding of the technological frontiers in stable isotope development. Moving forward, LICA will continue to closely follow the latest developments in stable isotope ecology, gain a deeper understanding of user needs, and provide superior technical solutions and services.
